Plane at Delano Municipal Airport
Transportation Services Department operates and manages Delano Area Rapid Transit (DART) fixed route and dial-a-ride services, oversees the compressed natural gas (CNG) station at the City's Corporation Yard, regulates taxi cab services in accordance with the City's taxi cab ordinance and manages and operates the Delano Municipal Airport.
The Transit Services Division is responsible for the management and operations of the City’s transit service, DART. The division administers and supervises the transit operations, plans existing and future services, files reports and claims for transit funding, promotes and advertise the transit services, coordinates transit service with other agencies, monitors and administers the City’s taxi services.
The Airport Division is responsible for the management and operation of Delano Municipal Airport. Delano Municipal Airport is an uncontrolled airfield offering a 5,651-foot runway and light aviation services and is open to the public. The airport was first opened in April of 1940. The airport encompasses approximately 520 acres, with a variety of parcels available for industrial use and aviation services. The airport is located just two miles Southeast of Delano.

Highways
State Route 99 On Ramp Sign
State Route 99 provides north/south access through the entire Central Valley. State Route 46 provides easy access to California's coast and to Interstate. State Route 58 carries traffic to east to Nevada and points beyond. State Route 43 provides north/south access between Bakersfield and Hanford and is another alternative to State Route 99. Public Transportation Services
Delano Area Rapid Transit (DART) and Delano Area Dial-A-Ride buses provide public transit services within the City of Delano and surrounding unincorporated county areas. Kern Regional Transit provides bus service between Delano, McFarland, Wasco, Shafter and Bakersfield. Tulare County Area Transit (TCaT) provides bus service between Delano, Richgrove, Earlimart and Tulare. Greyhound, Cruero, TEO and Transportes Intercalifornias and Orange Belt Stages provides intercity transportation service to areas beyond Delano. Eagle Mountain Casino and Tachi Palace Casino & Hotel provides shuttle service from Delano to casinos is Porterville and Lemoore. DART, Delano Area Dial-A-Ride, Kern Regional Transit, Tulare County Area Transit, TEO, Transportes Intercalifornias, Eagle Mountain Casino shuttle and Tachi Palace Casino shuttle depart from Delano Station at 1120 Glenwood Street, Delano at the corner of 11th Avenue and Glenwood Street.

The Delano Municipal Airport is an uncontrolled airfield offering a 5,651-foot runway and light aviation services and is open to the public. The airport was first opened in April of 1940. The airport encompasses approximately 520 acres, with a variety of parcels available for industrial use and aviation services. The airport is located just two miles from central Delano, at 1212 Airport Drive just off the Woollomes Avenue exit from State Route 99.
