The City of Delano is proud to have been the recipient of several awards and be recognized by the Delano Chamber of Commerce at their 2010 Annual Service Awards Event.


Awards Received

Customer Service Excellence Award, to the Public Works Department for working as a team in providing great customer service to the public in streets, refuse and various water issues.

Sunny Award, the City of Delano's Website received the top transparency website award in 2013 for the first time from Sunshine Review a non-profit organization that analyzes thousands of government websites. This award is an honor given to only 3.5% of the 7,000 government websites they review. 

Urban Lift Community Grant, Wells Fargo presented Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) with a $150,306 Urban Lift Grant to help strengthen Delano neighborhoods. This grant is designed to provide support to local nonprofits for neighborhood revitalization projects in 25 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) with diverse populations that were impacted by foreclosures. Delano's Ellington Community Center and city neighborhoods will benefit from this large investment. 

GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
